Apple reportedly is developing a small, wearable AI pin equipped with cameras, microphones and a speaker, according to The Information.
The device, still in early development, is described as roughly the size of an AirTag, with a thin, circular design made of aluminum and glass. It would include two front-facing cameras – a standard and a wide-angle lens – along with three microphones, a built-in speaker and a physical control button. The pin would charge wirelessly, similar to an Apple Watch.
If launched, the pin would likely run a new Siri chatbot expected to debut with iOS 27, allowing it to function independently without a companion device. It is unclear whether Apple plans to sell the pin on its own or bundle it with future products such as smart glasses.
AI wearables have struggled commercially, but competition is intensifying. OpenAI is working with Jony Ive on a new AI device, while Meta and Amazon are pursuing their own AI wearables. The Information reports Apple could target a 2027 release, though the project could still be shelved.
