Meta, the parent of Facebook and Instagram, has acquired Moltbook, the viral social media network for AI agents.
According to Axios, Moltbook creators Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr will be joining Meta Superintelligence Labs, which is run by former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is set to close in mid-March.
Moltbook went viral after AI agents began posting their thoughts on the platform. It has claimed that millions of agents use the Reddit-like social network. But some people say that they can instruct bots on what to post, according to CNBC.
