Amazon has expanded its Nova AI model family with four new models, a training service for creating customized ‘Novella’ variants, and a tool for building reliable AI agents.
The new Nova 2 Lite and Nova 2 Pro models offer stronger reasoning, multimodal processing, and built-in web grounding. Nova 2 Lite targets everyday automation with industry-leading price performance, while Nova 2 Pro handles complex tasks such as agentic coding, multi-document analysis, and advanced math.
Nova 2 Sonic introduces real-time speech-to-speech AI with multilingual support, and Nova 2 Omni becomes the first unified model to process and generate text, images, video, and speech at frontier scale. Companies including Cisco, Siemens, and Trellix are already using them for applications from cybersecurity to voice assistants.
Amazon also launched Nova Forge, which lets organizations train their own frontier-level models using Nova checkpoints, and Nova Act, a service that builds high-reliability browser-based AI agents for enterprise workflows.

French AI frontier model startup Mistral has introduced Mistral 3, a new family of open-source AI models that spans small edge-ready systems to a frontier-scale mixture-of-experts (MoE) model. The lineup includes three compact ‘Ministral’ dense models (3B, 8B and 14B) and Mistral Large 3, a sparse MoE model trained with 41 billion active parameters and 675 billion total.
Released under the Apache 2.0 license, the models aim to give developers broad customization options and lower operating costs. Mistral Large 3, trained on 3,000 Nvidia H200 GPUs, reaches parity with top instruction-tuned open-weight models and ranks No. 2 among open-source non-reasoning models on the LMArena leaderboard.
Mistral and partners including Nvidia, Red Hat and vLLM optimized the models for efficient deployment across data centers and edge devices. The Ministral series focuses on cost-performance, multimodal capabilities and multilingual support, offering base, instruct and reasoning variants.
Mistral 3 is available now on Mistral AI Studio, Amazon Bedrock, Azure Foundry, Hugging Face (Large 3 & Ministral), Modal, IBM WatsonX, OpenRouter, Fireworks, Unsloth AI,and Together AI. In addition, it is coming soon on Nvidia NIM and AWS SageMaker.
