Anthropic is weighing a new funding round that could value the company at more than $900 billion, according to people familiar with the matter, according to Bloomberg News.
The round could push it ahead of rival OpenAI as the world’s most valuable AI startup. The news outlet said the discussions are at an early stage, and Anthropic has not accepted any offers.
The fundraising push follows surging demand for the company’s AI products and comes as it explores a potential initial public offering as soon as October.
Anthropic has already attracted significant backing from Google, which recently committed $10 billion with the option to invest $30 billion more, and Amazon, which has pledged $5 billion in additional funding.
Founded in 2021, Anthropic has emerged as a key player in enterprise AI, intensifying competition across the sector.
