Anthropic is deepening its ties with Microsoft and Nvidia in a set of new partnerships aimed at scaling its Claude AI models and expanding enterprise access.
The startup will run Claude on Microsoft Azure, powered by Nvidia’s latest architecture, and has committed to purchasing $30 billion in Azure compute capacity, with plans to contract up to one gigawatt of additional compute. Anthropic and Nvidia are also forming a close technology partnership to co-design and optimize both AI models and future chip architectures for performance and efficiency, using Nvidia Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems.
Microsoft will offer Anthropic’s frontier models – including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1 and Haiku 4.5 – through Microsoft Foundry, giving Azure customers expanded choice. Claude will also continue to be available across Microsoft’s Copilot products, including GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
As part of the expanded relationship, Nvidia will invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic, while Microsoft has committed up to $5 billion.
