OpenAI is rolling out its low-cost ChatGPT Go subscription plan globally.
The company introduced ChatGPT Go in India in August 2025 and has since expanded it to 170 additional countries, making it OpenAI’s fastest-growing subscription plan. Starting this week, Go is available everywhere ChatGPT operates, including the U.S., where it costs $8 a month.
With the launch, OpenAI now offers three consumer subscription tiers worldwide: ChatGPT Go at $8 a month, ChatGPT Plus at $20 a month and ChatGPT Pro at $200 a month.
ChatGPT Go is positioned between the free tier and Plus, offering expanded access to OpenAI’s GPT-5.2 Instant model, higher usage limits for messaging, file uploads and image creation, and longer memory and context windows. Plus targets more complex work such as research, data analysis and coding, while Pro is designed for power users who need maximum performance and early access to new features.
OpenAI also said it plans to begin testing ads in the U.S. in the coming weeks on the free tier and ChatGPT Go. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise subscriptions will remain ad-free. The company said ads will be clearly labeled, kept separate from answers, excluded from sensitive topics and not shown to users under 18.
