Uber is partnering with Expedia to offer riders the option to also book a hotel directly on its ride-hailing app.
The lodging option is initially available in the U.S. and expand to more than 700,000 properties globally, but no timeline has been given. Members of its subscription service, Uber One, will get 10% back in Uber credits on hotel bookings and save at least 20% on more than 10,000 hotels worldwide.
Vacation rentals from VRBO will be added later in 2026. In June, the option to book Uber rides will be embedded into the Expedia app. Customers will get a discount on Uber rides during their trip.
“Uber is becoming an app for everything — helping people go, get, and now travel all in one place,” said Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, in a statement.
Uber also introduced ‘Travel Mode,” which offers local recommendations to travelers, including the ability to make restaurant reservations on OpenTable, order Uber ‘room service,’ among other perks.
A new ‘Shop for Me’ feature lets users request items from any store, including those not listed on the Uber app. Also, riders in some cities can request a drink or snack along with their Uber Black SUV or Uber Black reservation.
Uber also added a voice-activated capability for booking rides and other services.
